MNFCC Raises Asbestos and Mesothelioma Awareness Across the UK

Racing on Sunday 19 June, the MNFCC tackled races across the UK, raising asbestos and mesothelioma awareness and promoting The Mavis Nye Foundation and the work the charity does. James, Toni and Ab tackled The Dragon Ride in South Wales, starting at Port Talbot. Toni, Ab and James took on The Dragon Ride. MNFCC Team Compete for a Place in the World Championships

Now two races down in the MNFCC, the team competed in the Gran Fondo World Championship Qualifier, with each team member entering different categories. Missing two years of the race following Covid19 restrictions, allowed the organisers additional time to improve rider experience, encouraging local residents to show support along the route, add a 50-mile sportive for the first time and expand the off-bike activities to create Britain’s biggest cycling festival. First Race Completed – Yorkshire Corker Conquered

The MNFCC team completed the first race of the fundraiser on Sunday 5 June. Starting at the York St John University Sports Park, the Yorkshire Corker was 95 miles long and took the team around 6 hours to complete. Toni Purvis and Ab Woolass worked together throughout the tough race, dubbed “The Stein”, with both riders appearing in the top ten! MNFCC Team Warmed Up for the Challenge Ahead

Ahead of the MNFCC challenge, the team met up and took part in the Lincolnshire Sportive on Saturday 7th May, a distance of over 100 miles. Marine Owen and James Griffiths rode 62 miles, finishing very high up the field. Ab Woolass and Toni Purvis rode 102 miles around Lincolnshire. Ab and the team warm-up for Challenge Ahead

Welcome to the Mavis Nye Foundation Cycle Club Fundraiser

This charity cycle club has been organised by UKATA in support of the Mavis Nye Foundation. A message from Mavis Nye
